PROVOKED

PROVOKED

You provoked and then you prodded

To elicit some kind of action

You stirred up my emotions

Just to get some kind of reaction

I sat there in total disbelief

I couldn't believe what I was hearing

You pulled the rug out from under me

Just to know what I was feeling

I was kept too distracted

To notice or understand

I missed your whole therapy trick

I didn't catch your slight of hand

Still sitting here with my reaction

But I think I've figured it out

Pushing buttons and getting a rise

It's what therapy's all about

But now that I've been made aware

I'm keeping my eyes on you

I won't miss your next trick

I think I've figured out what you're up to
