Psalm 27

Who is my light and salvation?
why surely it is the Lord
for He defeats all my enemies
with His great and mighty sword

God is my stronghold
for all of my days
so why am I afraid?
when the Lord is my praise

Evil ones attack me
my flesh they would eat
but the Lord’s frontal attack
truly has them beat

Even when I am surrounded
by an army so great
no fear will grip my heart
for on the Lord I will wait

I did seek the Lord
for this one and only thing
to always be in His temple
and look upon my king

When the day of trouble comes
I will be lifted high on my rock
God will be my shelter
covering every step I walk

So take courage my friend
on the Lord you must wait
for in your heart be strong
the Lord will not be late
