Psalm 84

A lovely dwelling place,

is our almighty God;

our soul yearns for His courts,

as our heart cries out to the living Lord.

Oh to be like the sparrow,

and the swallow in its nest;

to have a place near God’s alter,

is indeed to be truly blessed.

Pleading for God to hear,

our hearts desires in His ear;

for we His anointed ones,

would know His favour with no fear.

A day in God’s house,

as well as singing God’s praise;

and reading His love letter,

is for His own far better.

Our sun and shield is our God,

whose favour and honour we are told;

is given to the blameless walkers,

to whom nothing good He will withhold.

The Lord of hosts is the name given,

to the one who is the blesser;

on all that trusts in Him,

for protection from the aggressor.
