Puppy Love--Eternal Soulmate

Unbelievably my dear friend Tony, years ago I was just like you;
Dogs were not my priority, their company I easily eschewed!
I’d had some when I was younger, my heart was broken when they died;
But then as I got older, I cast these feelings to the side!
.
My children always had one, several met with catastrophe;
Hit by cars or with an illness, so sad they’d ever be!
So I enured myself from emotions, other than a mandatory pet;
For anguish from their passing, I did not want to get!
.
When I met Linda she had her “Nicki”, a German Shepherd she loved true;
But we lost her one year later, my poor Linda was then so blue!
For seven years we were dogless, but in two thousand one;
Linda met a little puppy, that her heart and soul did stun!
.
She begged me to accept him, because I loved her I said okay;
I came home from a trip one month later, and was dreading our meeting day!
But I was greeted by a small white Angel, who took my breath away;
Our souls bonded in that instant, I knew our love would ever stay!

These photographs will show you, that first day when we met;
Passion I thought impossible, I thought he’d be just another pet!
But he proved to be my soulmate, and I wanted to you say;
A man with all your passion, could have the same some day!
