Being a child of God
I have searched your word
Instructions on pleasing you
So I pray and pray
The key to pleasing you
Create in me a pure heart...oh God
Catching blessings along the way
Not letting your presence slip away
I know I owe you everything
If not for you
My life would have been tattooed
A heart tattooed a permanent blue
I have been saved - because I pray
Create in me a pure heart
So I can please you
Turn your face and light
To totally surround me
My key to happiness
Striving to please you
So in this world I'll escape
Being tattooed a Permanent Blue
The love of God remains
Evil earthly bumps He endures
His protection throughout life
Will cover you
This is my truth
A pure heart to endure
God's love shines through
My God and Savior
You saved my heart

Excellent write TERRY!!...... We all eventually (to some extent) wind up having these 'conversations with God'....... which is what I felt I was reading here......A poetically delivered striving for happiness through God's grace....... one of my favorite quotes from "The Imitation Of Christ" might shine light here ~

When we put God first place and we really love, honor, and accept all the lessons we are given...
When we loosen up and show God we get it...
When we are so thankful and give Him love...
In so many ways we're shown He's our wonderful friend...
He knows our hurts, our pain, our hearts, and if we allow it and accept it He gives us joy somewhere in the mess...
