Memory Drive

Imagine a mind with a reset button
instead of constant storage (a memory glutton).
It could also have a hard delete
and a shutoff mode for needed retreat.
Unpleasant moments we could opt to erase,
picking which files to save in their place.
Just one simple click of the mouse
equals renewed vacancy in the cranial house.
As years pass by, the device outdates
but in each new experience, a file creates.
A warning emerges…space almost full;
what used to be sharp has now become dull.
Precious events continue to fade --
any chance of installing a system upgrade?
Too many memories, can't easily regurge…
can we choose the ones we’d like to purge?
