Purple Blanket...

Places are different now without you
underneath this blanket, it’s just me now
risen has the sun and so must I go on
people are different now that you’re gone
little by little I notice some thing’s missing
every day I see my tears and fears

But then I remember those days under the sun
laying and playing on this blanket with you
and how you said you’d never leave me alone
not even when we lay you to rest; that final rest
keep you around my arms and in my heart
every night I hold you near and dear
this purple blanket I will cherish always
