Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth II

Her eyes, oh how they sparkled, brighter than the priceless precious jewels adorning her.Ā
Her smile, sheer sunshine radiating rays of warmth & joy that reached every corner.Ā
That hearty mischievous laugh that belonged to all of us.Ā
Her dedicated, devoted duty that only death could release.Ā
The moral code that flooded every fibre of her being.Ā
Her modest, self deprecating demeanour.Ā
Her vows, every promise kept, never once broken or betrayed.Ā
The unwavering faith, the light that guided her always.Ā
Her strength & stay, a husband who stole her heart for eternity.Ā
Our beloved beautiful Queen, our ever-present, the one constant, the anchor that steadied us in stormy seas.Ā
Maā€™am, our majesty, a monarch with a touch of magic who will be forever missed.Ā
Goodnight, Lilibet. God bless.

Hi Tracey, hope you are very well. I have very fond memories of our Queen, shared joys, fears and uncertainties as I am sure most British people have, whether favourable views of the British monarchy are held or not. Your writing captured her essence perfectly. Thank you! xxxx

Hi Tony. Hope you are keeping well. Thank you so much. I still canā€™t believe sheā€™s gone. She was Great Britain, it ran through her veins. Iā€™ll forever miss her xx

Hi Tracey, great to hear from you. Yes, IĀ“m very well and glad you are too. Yes it is difficult to believe and take in as she was a constant presence in most peopleĀ“s lives. I remember the speech she made to the nation during the very frightening early days of the pandemic, when no one really knew what the virus was capable of. I found her words to be very comforting during a very harsh first lockdown here in Spain when friends were in hospital unable to breathe properly and fighting for their lives. God bless Lilibet! Great write Tracey! xxxx
