Rain

Have you ever seen the rain?
When it falls like it is a gifted intelligence
Getting into all the spaces and places I need dry
Refusing to pour when all I do is cry
When the world around is dying of thirst
It is perverse and goes everywhere else
It descends on a whim and then disappears again
I truly do not understand rain.
But it is beautiful in its purpose 
It is pours forth the water of life
IT cascades in volumes terrifying
and trickles in with a mist
Am I sometimes like rain?
Capricious and off putting, no ties on me
No way to control this storm wind
I am me
Free like the rain
