Raindrops Keep Falling

Drip. Drip. Drip.
Rain, rain, rain.
Dropping and dripping on my head like a steady flow of clear, soft pearls
Thumping like a steady drumbeat on the sidewalk
Falling into the ponds full of ducks and fish
Streaming and trickling down glass windows
Behind which people watch in awe
As the raindrops fall.
The rain is always cool, but never frosty
It is never too wet, nor too loud
The thumping of the drops on my window and sidewalk
Simply pull me into a dreamlike trance
And the mares in my mind prance
As if I had entered a different, quiet world
Where I could just listen to the rain.
Drip. Drop.
