Is like one you’ve never known

A strange and roaring sea

With the creatures down below

It reflects like a mirror

The qualities you show

I see the deeper meaning

In the small flakes of snow

Most times you only see

A sweet and gentle kind of soul

But just wait until you cross me

You’ll feel a fear you’ve never known

The fire inside me

It grows each and every day

Loving and trusting

Those who don’t deserve their pay

All that you see is only skin deep

If only you’d see all the scars underneath

Many can’t tell

And you can’t blame them if they try

A common lie is always told

Just two words, and it’s “I’m fine.”

Because people, they only see

The smile on your face

And they turn away
