Red Blood Dawn

The bull frogs croak at dusk by the banks of the riverside
Large mouth bass jump for the last catch of mosquitos
While the wood duck dips for his nightly drink
You can hear the coyote pups in the trampled timberwoods
The snap of the soft shelled turtle the mino his evening snack
While supper is roasting, the crisp flesh of wild boar on fires side
Native lands of countryside from charcoal dusky sky til the red blood of dawn
