Referring To Dreams

Thank You, Langston

Referring To Dreams

“One” once asked, “What happens to a dream deferred?”
With credit to his thinking
I prefer to ponder
What is the consequence
Of a dream sought after, but never achieved?
Similar to the simple
Yet more devastating from the demonstrator

From the creation, with internal vision
Visualizing the manifestation
Maintaining the brick and mortar
More and more over
Concrete planning
Endorphins fueling the potential to be legendary
Laying the ground work
Practiced and rehearsed
Counting down for the perfect timing

As life moves along
Seemingly further away from the actuation of mental inscriptions
Placing real life situations
In priority over prior workings
Each moment becoming perfect time to procrastinate
“Adulting” acts as the distraction
To break connections from follow through

Regretfully and woefully so
Looking back on the acts of life
Dreams dewindle to reality’s plight
“Withering” at daylight
Awaking in the mid, at star’s peeks
Fallen into mediocrity
Medium efforts, materialize to minimal acquisition of visions to fruition

To dream is to live in the future presently
And present the future with a gift
Of achievement
Concurrently congratulating
In that currently, past and future meet
Thank you Langston
