Value

S.O.S

Value

What good is life
Without the enjoyment of it
To even have her, to call
“My dearly beloved”
There is no tranquility or peace
When a tidal wave of anguish is released
I’m drowning
S.O.S
Silent, Overwhelmed and Soulless
No pulling up by one’s bootstraps
In waters this deep
No pedal boat or canoe
Can trek these feats
Only fleets of courage and bravery
May rescue this vessel
Adrift, enduring each swell
Many a ship have failed
Men by the bundle plunge into the unknown
To recover the wreckage
Sunken and submerged in the muck
Muddling about
Shouts and screams are muffled by the soul
Not daring to utter a word
My isolation is untold
My loneliness, without a cure
To escape this abyss
Becomes more of a dream
With every mounting wish
All the more vexing
Tossed and thrown about in a vortex
Whirlpools of uncontrollable mishaps
Life, is not being
More so, just happening
Passing, stacking hour on hour
Collapsing timelines collide
Alas, high tide..
Hides lowlights of non-concurrent moments
How I long to hold tight and “love her”
Yet who can value, the lessons learned?
With all the experience acquired
Chances and decisions
I must swim
And compose a compass of stories
To guide as streams and currents direct
I yearn
I search
I question its worth
In hopes to see its
Value
