REFLECTION

I look out my window and what do I seeĀ
A strange reflection looking back at meĀ
Not a busy street that I once knew so well
Nor is it my neighbour ranting from hell

The reflection I see gets clearer and clearer
As I look it seems to be getting nearerĀ
The reflection is me with tears in my eyes
Living in this world it's no great surpriseĀ

I wish the reflection was of other thingsĀ
Like the blue sky and the pleasure that bringsĀ
Instead all I see is a portrait of a sad meĀ
That's the only reflection that I happen to see
