Reflection 2

Weak diminishing rays from skies of gray,
Receding from waters through misty spray.
The white frothy waves dashed on high,
Where upon the shore they crash and die.
A thousand footprints left by man,
Are washed by waves creeping o'er the sand,
Rush back down to meet their own kind,
The foot prints gone - erased from time.
Sandpipers scooting through tumbling foam,
Culling food particles as they quickly roam,
Timing their forays 'tween each wave's beat,
Trailing behind water's rushing retreat.
Light's fleeting glow on sand dunes cast,
Tall grasses leaning from wind's sweeping blast.
Sand dwelling creatures creep from below,
Feeding in safety of days failing glow.
Below the horizon, sun's last rays gone,
The light of day has silently flown,
Night's gentle darkness with sea doth blend,
Day's shades are drawn - now it must end.
