Poem -

Rekindle the Awe

You have lost your sense of wonder,
Ceased to strive for the very best.
Gave up what you had to hold
To someone unimpressed.

Mystery was not welcome,
The adventures there alone.
Dreams and quests of your youth
Ridiculed and destroyed.

Now you live your days
In a disrupted silence.
Evading intentionsĀ from your past,
Envious of those who don't.

Let me show you what I have retained,
Held onto through the fight.
A glimpse of hope I have not lost,
New opportunities abound.

Allow yourself this bit of freedom,
As free is what you claim you are.
To look beyond the veil of sense
You cap your mind to roam.

Come with me to higher places,
Above the exhaled air of past.
Together we will then uncover
What it was we hoped we were.
