Relative Interplay!

Parents wake, baby's cry
Alerts those on which she relies,
Sleep disrupted, ruffled hair,
Baby rocked with loving care,
Breathes with ease, sobs subside,
Peace restored through closing eyes,
Anxieties cease, priority solved,
Relaxation for those involved,
Settling down to restore sleep;
Calm, serene, counting sheep,
Silent slumber, tired physique,
Thriving reviving, breathing deep,
Duty calls, active day,
Family interactions, relative interplay!
 
Panic stations, breakfast rushed,
Shampooing, showering, dash for bus,
Father's on the early shift,
Periodically gets a lift,
Public transport, short delays,
Clocking-in on long workdays,
Double-glazing, overtime,
Factory schedule, manufacturing line,
Laborious hours, inadequate breaks,
Repetitious routine, deadlines at stake,
The onus on the bonus, reduced by tax,
Blasphemous curses, X-rated chit-chat,
Hard work rewarded, a grand pension plan
Conditions, disciplines the family man!
 
Mother snuggles baby, gives her regular feeds,
Love and attention on maternity leave,
All that's asked, multitasks, cooks and cleans,
Monitoring her baby, nappy-changing regime,
She shares her daughter's gurgles with people in parks,
Admirable glances, affectionate laughs,
Oodles of attention, comments of joy,
'You have a baby girl, next a bouncing boy?'
She has family resemblance; more like her dad,
Lantern-jaw, ears like an open-door cab,
Cherished with relish, smothered with love,
Covered with bubbles in her bath-time tub,
Never neglected, protected from birth,
Their number one girl in the universe!
 
Baby wakes,  parents decide
Whose turn to leave the bed and rise,
Pacify their crying child;
Curb the sighs,  dry wet eyes,
Reassure that all is well,
A sure-shot cure,  psychological,
Calm the infant, bottled milk,
A breast-free stress-free substitute,
Lungs deflated, tongue feels moist,
The youngster soothed by her parent's voice,
Tuned to detect the dulcet tones,
Accept she`s safe within the home,
A solid base , grand place to stay
With sedative relative interplay!
