Poem -

Relief

Get out of my head.

If my brain were made of paper,

I'd tear it out of my notebook skull.

Crumple it to the size of a fist,

And throw it in the nearby lake.

I'd sit and watch it float,

Peacefully downstream,

Calmly away from me.

And with every turn in the waters current,

With every twist in the rivers bend,

My soul would lighten.

At last,

I would feel relief.

Alas, my brain is less fragile than that.

Its embedded within my head,

Fixed like sedimentary rock.

And no amount of self destructive thought

Could weather it down to a more manageable size.

I guess that's why you're still in my dreams every night.

What spell do I have to cast,

To get you out of my life?

You have a style that makes me think of D.H Lawrence's work, to be quite honest, Katie. Very raw and not pretentious in the slightest, and full of unbridled emotion. This, in my humble opinion, makes for some really weighty writing. Demure, yet leaves no room for grey areas in the acrimony you are trying to convey. Awesome work. Look forward to reading more. :)

Hi Katie,

No sorceresses spell needed.  You have multiple choices. 1. Speed Dating.  2. Party hard with girlfriends.  3. Singles events.  4. Church support groups.  5. Dear friends and Aunties blind dates.  Which ever you choose, only one, or try them all, protect your heart until you know that you have finally found your soulmate.  Welcome to Cosmo!  Keep your beautiful words coming.

Peace an Love,

xox Larry
