Resolution Insanity...!
Aspiring for idealism
Grounded by reality
Major league overspending
Monetary driven insanity
Ritualistic annual gatherings
Families are united
Transparent without subtlety
Pleasantries are recited
Normality is resumed
Another year begins
Resolutions are made
Temptation usually wins
Struggling as usual
Abstaining is tough
Resistance now futile
Smooth becoming rough
Giving up pleasure
Amplifies the stress
Life's already hazy
Living under duress
Maybe next year
Perhaps try again
Fuck these resolutions
Driving me insane........

Well said Jason, I too have given up on the New Year's resolutions, having said that I never started them LOL!! I think many will be able to relate, nicely written!! Liked the short burst lines, to the point and brutally honest, as always ha ha!! A vote and nom from me!
