Poem -

Reverie

An interpretation of Anxiety

Reverie

Illusion... Mutter
Flutter... Abyss
Confusion... Art
Glance and Esquisse.

My heart is emerged
By the sound of its rustle
And I slowly collapse
On the cosmical hustle.

In eyes- you are virtue,
Recurrence of breathing
That scatters distasteful
The essence of living

Obscure is the light
Upon extinct surroundings...
Utopian faces seem
Bright and astounding.

How beautiful.

The beauty of poetry is that no two are ever alike. I really liked the format and the attention paid to metaphors. You made a serious disease like anxiety almost sound like a piece of art, how the waves in a painting however beautiful can take you soaring above the trees, under the bridge and into the horizon with a fleeting feeling of hope to make it out again. I live with anxiety but never thought of it as art or compared to a sketch but that makes sense. What a beautifully written poem so full of outstanding imagery and thought. Well done!

Living with anxiety taught me to appreciate the small things in life and see the beauty in places I never dared to look at. It’s so liberating to see that you’re never alone, other people might go through the same thing, just in a different way. It is truly inspiring to see how you unapologetically fell into the core of my poem and I’m glad that you had a great experience with it. Thank you so much, Katina.
