Poem -

River

i stand here in full display to your judgments,
i am but a humble man,
tryin to make his way in this cruel world,
chasing shadows to the ground.

If i was to be made of stone,
then i will take up my charge with all haste,
step aside others pain,
Sacrifice my own if there was anything to be gain.

And when i grow to tired as i am sure to do so,
i will seek a bed of rock to lay down my heavy head,
there i will rest engraved in the landscape,
until the rivers come and the stone is bleed
