Rivers of Light

Rivers of Light

In a pool of calm water
a delicate flow,
tiny dimples, upwellings
collecting sunlight
amongst the bowing trees,
upon bank and meandering bow.

Through underwater rock
of gold and aquamarine green,
cathedrals of light in streamers
of flowing willow,
the moon and starry night
amongst the shining reeds.

The eddyline hidden in the depths
a veil between past and present,
the river spirit´s soul in tales
of life and death,
upon the dry bitter stone
the tears, sweat and spit,
the stones that roll with
the clouds and rain,
through the cloying mud that sticks.

The mountain streams
silent ice and snow,
the bold dark seas and their opposing flow,
The vapour of dreams
gathered in a pool of sky,
the honesty of their course
through constellations of time.

Hi Jim, me too, I adore the colours, atmosphere and dreams that mountains can evoke in us. One of the world´s remaining truly wild places that allow us to explore the realms of adventure and ourselves! Really cool comment Jim, thank you!
