Rock Of Ages

I just listened to a “Goldie Oldie”, from the Simon and Garfunkel gang;
It is titled “I Am A Rock”, and one of its lyrics, in my ears rang!
“If I had never loved before, I never would have cried”;
Which made me really think about, true feelings, our hearts denied!

For to lock out purest passion, to never bare your Soul;
Because you fear rejection, is an existence very droll!
I hate to quote an old cliché, but its ne’er been needed more;
“Tis better to have loved and lost, then no heartache try insure!”!
.
We all suffer with the loss of love, sometimes by rift, others by Soulmates death;
The former one, we soon move on, the latter, we are e’er bereft!
But I will take the sadness any day, over never having shared my heart;
So to the iconoclasts who eschew love, no one will cry when “you” depart!

                              I bare my Soul for true love
