Rose Colored Glasses

Rose colored glasses
A beautiful fantasy
Distorting reality
They break in the truth
As I realize all the lies

My superhero
I defended you always
My love was endless
But your armory has shattered

No admiration
Is left in my broken heart
I wish you could have been
The character in my dreams

I am left with this
I look at you with nothing
My mind races back
I try to rewrite the past

Only to realize
I do not have that power
I have to pretend
It has always been this way
