Rust

Me: Look deep in me

What do you see?

Him: I see a corroding hole

That needs someone’s filling

It’s in the shape of a heart

And it still falls apart

Why did you show me your

damaged heart?

Me: You could’ve filled it

Can’t you see?

Why did you never choose to love me?

Him: ...How could I?

When even you didn’t?

Me: You obviously didn’t pay attention... 

I loved you enough for the both of us

But you let my love die and rust

Who else now can I trust?

Maybe from the beginning,

We were a bust... 

Him: ...

Me: ...I’ve just had enough. 

*Walks away*

Him: ...
