A Saddened Gift

From within my head.
The past on repeat.
Recall the words said.
A part of life to keep.
Slipped off into a dreamless sleep.
Minutes feels like a day.
As a family begins to weep.
Angels to carry away.
Two devastating years have past.
Since we where told.
She would not last.
A fighter so bold.
You where our rock.
And gave us hope.
A life under lock.
And a thread of rope.
With cancer to beat.
Needs help from her bed.
Across the room to her seat.
Out of breath she bows her head.
Father watch over my mischief son.
When you take me and leave him alone.
Let him not the world shun.
Give he strength to carry on.
For you are wise.
And filled him with word.
Let him rise.
Let his voice not go un heard.
This I pray till my end.
Let his words touch another.
Their pain to mend.
A dieing wish of a mother.
The last words mom said.
Laying on her back.
Dying in a hospital bed.
To comfort me her knack.
So these words I now rhyme.
So others can see.
Throughout time.
A gift left to me.
