Sadness

Sadness

The sadness overwhelms me

Engulfing my body into its giant sea

I feel as if I can’t swim back to the top

And I ask myself if it would ever stop

It drowns me until I can no longer see light

That once stood before me,  ever so bright

My hope for happiness is now long gone

What else is there to live on?

I stop fighting for my life,

And I let the pain stab me like a knife

Yet it no longer burns inside

And I now know that sadness stays to reside
