SADNESS AND JOY

A contrasting tale of which I write today 
Sadness and joy decided they would play
Joy of course was having loads of fun 
Playing quite happily enjoying the sun 

Sadness meanwhile had a very long face
Wanted to get out of this playing place
Didn't belong there and wanted to hide 
Feeling really totally upset deep inside 

Joy didn't seem to notice, bother or care 
Made sadness think life just isn't fair 
I guess everyday we have sadness and joy
Doesn't matter whether you're a girl or boy
