Sayings and Words

Sayings and words of wisdom.

Always good to motivate, to feel pleasant and educate.

Some read through them all to fill up their rapport to use in passing conversation.

It has a purpose and a place in these days which seems ever more a rat race.

At times I find them a contradiction. Using metaphors, similes or idioms.

 Are they meant literally or figuratively?

Are they lessons to be learnt or advice to do what's right?

Morals and wisdom they are many to be picked from.

What gets me in a knot is reading one which leads to another which makes me loose the plot.

Take this as an example: " Fortune favours the brave"

Does it mean give it your best effort and risk it all? To place your bets and keep at it non stop till the bough breaks, watching the wall fall revealing your desire?

Now follow this up with " Be patient, your time will come"

So do I stand back or do I follow through with determination, conviction and effort?

Do the prep work for where I need to be then wait for the seeds to sprout?  Or do I water my hope with lots of effort  till I see the shoots of my labour come out?

I guess it all depends on the situation at hand. It's like playing the grand lotto and hoping you'd win. Sometimes you'll need to keep scratching to aim for the dream. Then there are times where you'll jump up and spring as you hit it in the right moment with just one swing.

None the less you've got to be in it in order to win it
