Scarlet Despair

Thick scarlet flows o'er darkened despair
drawing me nearer this unlived life
Torment shown through wanted wounds
from sharpened edge of my loving knife
Feeling inner warmth surround me
piercing white winter creeps within
the beckoning of sweet repose is dawning
my delicate deliverance can then begin
with wafts of brilliant soft haze about me
elation replaced my lachrymose mood
I stood up as peace filled within me
then quietly looked down and I understood
