A Scream Across the Emerald Sea

A Scream Across the Emerald Sea

As the dark against the sky looms closer it creeps across the Irish landscape

Your flesh tremors as you see the ruins of the Duluce Castle at the edge of the cliff

No longer on her father's stage, the chill of the thought, not seeing her beloved, she dies to escape

Her father forbid, she was too good for an army officer, so her father locked her in a room, to keep her from mischief

With assist from her lover, she was able to run away, an abandoned boat set sail, a horrible storm came

As the waves crossed over the boat spilled, the two drenched like rats they drowned

That night,  the castle starting to crumble, the ruins torn, ugly with shame

The bitter cold wind flushed through the cellar as the vultures circled high above, their bodies never found

A feel of an empty ghost ship, a head severed, though her mourning scream came clear

Echoing through the tormented castle, across the sea of darkness, begging for the return of her lost love, Reginald

Maeve just a young girl, with a maddened angry heart, the water bleeds with grief

The castle walls weep in a memory forbidden in the buried sands of coral reef

Screaming in the night, Maeve will never be free,  her father will never be forgiven

As the dark against the sky, a gem of  belief dropped links beneath the sea

A treasured gift remains at the very bottom, though it glows a green sheen of emerald

A haunting gift of love from your army officer no more, a drift  in the tide, Reginald

The castle gates collasped with broken chains they rattle and bang throughout the night

Maeve cries with shattered tears within the empty walls of Duluce

An everlonging groaning scream across the maddened emerald sea
