Sea and Stars

Petals of molten gold
casting light,
upon the solemn hemisphere
of lonely black night,
ethereal fair hosts
lanterns of topaz and fire
radiant embrace
aloft in the sky,
pulsing light of pearls
in polar white.

Upon black jaguar
silk that stalks,
the iron heart of leaden ore
in depths of storms,
upon the bruised
and battered shore,
through realms of sea spray
shadows in spectral moonlight,
fall black tears in talon
waves of ice.

Rise in embers of light
to fire the dawn horizon
in crimson, gold and white,
over the waves of dark and light hue
that fall and rise with the rain,
sweet daisy lights and shining dew,
sea spray showers upon the black cliffs
in brimstone dust, the great seabird flight
of silver, shimmering, spectre moon.
