SEA OF FAITH

A sad and lonely island
Within a sea of sheer despair
I saw your ship go sailing by
As though it had no care
Silenced by the ocean
Your voice I couldn’t hear
But you whispered out your thoughts to me
I felt your presence near
They were troubled like the waters
And they crashed against the waves
But your boat just kept on sailing
Towards the darkened caves
I threw a line to reach you
But the rope was much too short
I watched your fear now mounting
Off this ship you must abort
But there was nowhere left to go
The sea was choppy; dragged you in
Much further than expected
A battle you wouldn’t win
No longer could I see you
You were pulled within its grasp
I could hear your mind call out to me
In a quiet weakened rasp
I willed with all my heart
And I prayed with all my soul
That the motion of the waves
Would throw you out of that big hole
So I waited on the shore line
Longing for your safe return
Yelling out to empty hope
Your fate I had to learn
And when all my will was fading
I saw a distant shining light
Serenity was calling you
You no longer had to fight
The angels had come calling
They were here to take you back
Angry seas you would no longer dwell
The courage you’d not lack
Now the waters they grew calmer
A sea of tranquil peace
You waved to me with smiling eyes
The fear was now deceased ..........
