Poem -

It was never summer for us
Though we pretended it was true
It was never summer
We both knew
So it was inevitable
When Winters struggles came
That it would freeze us
Crack our hearts
Coat us in ice
Wash us away
And now
In the sunrise of spring
No more to each other
We cling
But gaze away
To summers new
And hope lifeΒ
Will grant usΒ
A love more lasting
A love more true.
