Poem -

SEASONS

It was never summer for us
Though we pretended it was
true, but
It was never summer for us
And this we both well knew

So it was inevitable
When Winters struggles came
That it would freeze us both
AndΒ crack our hearts
Coat us in ice and hurl us far

And now inΒ the sunrise
Of inevitableΒ spring
No more to each other
No more do we cling

But gaze away
ToΒ summers new
In the hope
Life will grant usΒ both
A love more true
