Self-Captive

Save Me From Me

Self-Captive

Heart on my sleeve
Knife in my back
Eyes opened wide
Nails with jagged edges
Body covered in bruises
Internally broken to pieces
Shattered like a mirror
My reflection currently scary
UNFAMILIAR

Mind tired and weak
Thoughts keep intersecting
Creating contradiction amidst
THE TRUE REALITY
Insecurities fog loves sky
Past trauma keeps resurfacing
Lately a struggle just to breathe
I have only myself to blame
FAMILIAR

Hello S.W.......I LOVE the powerful impact that your sharp phrasing delivers here.....the succinct, stabbing, "In your face", staccato-type delivery, that creates such impactful imagery in the minds eye....it takes the reader right to the edge with you......helping the intent of the whole to be profoundly received and understood as the internal battle that the author intended!!......ALL STARS & PINNED!!......Bravo dear poet brother!!.......LOVE & ROCKETS!!......T xo   : )
