Self Discipline: The fight is long and hard and in the end it’s only with yourself

I try to cut out alcohol
And not sleep in half the day
And reign in my spending
And think positive each day.

A stressful day?
Well perhaps for me
Go down the pub
Get too merry

Spending money constantly
Where does the money go?
Just when I think I have enough
My bank balance is low.

β€œWatch your spending”
My father said
I have that thought inside my head.
But self- discipline is oh so tough.

Of it I do not have enough.
