Self- Pity

It's true I feel sorry for myself
I'm not sure it's really justifiable,
I lack confidence and motivation:
I think that's undesirable.
I see the world from only my own point of view-
I guess in reality many do,
And I think I half- unconsciously try to see
If I can gain other people's sympathy-
Friends, work colleagues, my employer
(I sometimes wonder if I annoy her).
I'm a bit of a Mummy's boy perhaps:
She rather mollycoddles me.
Perhaps I've not done enough
To show I can live independently.
I should live without self- pity.

Hello Michael...
I was a turn key kid at 8 years old and my friends would go home and their Mothers would be there waiting for them...
I was always pretty independent and when life would throw it's blows at my friends they had a difficult time dealing with things...
They would come to me a lot for advice and stuff...
Now, kids can't be alone until their teenagers that would drive me crazy...
I was babysitting at 12 I had two Businesses I couldn't imagine having a baby sitter at that age...
I earned my first Guitar and it went from there...
I was buying my own clothes and going to the Mall...
If anyone called for me chances are I wasn't home, leave a message...
Self-pity and I never got too acquainted with each other...
IΒ didn't have time for it too...
I would like to help you but, I don't have experience in that...
Great write!
Thank you for sharing...
Hugs...

Dear Michael,
"Self-Pity" is an indulgence
That everyone sometimes needs
To dwell on that which hurts us
And on our life impedes
Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
