Selfish Mr Time

Do not stop, do not give up,
The world will keep on turning,
For time is a selfish fellow,
He has no plans of returning.

See Mr Time thinks for himself,
There is no form of waiting,
And if you want to pause a while,
He isn't accommodating.

There's only one way forward,
He never doubles back,
He will not change his route for you,
He'll stay firmly on his track.

For every seconds counted,
And every minutes made,
For he will last eternity,
In his timeless charade.

Do not ask for mercy,
And do not pray for a day,
For your time isn't considered,
It's a selfish game he plays.

So live for every moment,
Do everything you can,
Push yourself past your limits,
Go ahead and make that plan.

For time will not be pausing,
He will not wait for you,
And one day you will look back,
As time has travelled through.
