"Senseless Bliss"

"Senseless Bliss"

Musical was your laughter

Your voice like a clear bell when you would sing

I can still hear you well eve after

So many long years of silent suffering.

Deep are etched the memories of our ears.

Deeply run the emotions they can unleash.

Remembering is the sum of all my fears!

But seeking to forget is impossible and foolish.

Once I met a miserable man who cried,

"Better born blind than to see the world's pain!"

I would add; "Deaf as well rather than to be denied

Ever hearing your sweet voice again!"

I wish that I had been born blind, deaf and dumb!

And never to have known such agony as this!

Lord, turn me into stone and make me numb!

Grant me the serenity of forgetful, senseless bliss....
