Separation

Separation

I am sorry that I left you,
In a family close and knit,

But I could no longer remain,

In a marriage gone to shit.

I stayed as long as I could,

But being used is not my thing,

And being taken advantage of,

A high price for that ring.

I left before the fighting,

In a house that wasn't a home,

And knew that things would be better,

Once we were alone.

I am sorry to you my daughter,

I know you love us to the moon,

And we love you so very much,

I hope you'll forgive me soon

I couldn't think of a better way to move forward, life is hard, and once we realise people we love are taking our shine it's time to move on, for a family it's the best result one can have, even though it seems the hardest thing to do, all I see is  Selflessness and pride. This is so relatable and I really love the rhyme. 🌹

Thankyou Shirley for your kind words, yes it was hard to finally make the decision to leave, but it was for the best.
