"Set in Stone"

"Set in Stone"

"Come to grip,
with the goodbyes,
and demands,
of your hands.

It took me 15 years,
to learn that,
I couldn't use,
that drugs and alcohol,
I would only abuse,
but this hard fought lesson,
bought me my freedom,
and now that,
the seed has been sowed,
I know it is to God,
everything is owed.

Now I've said goodbye,
to going away in my brain.
Because I used to numb pain,
that brought only more pain.

Going through,
that trial by fire,
I begged and pleaded,
to God.
He has now been rehired.
Because I know,
I cannot do it alone.
God is my Savior and Home,
and that,
my friends,
is set in stone."
