Seven Times a Second

Seven Times a Second

If I move to the west with the speed of the light
I will be where I stood instantly
Seven glimpses of night
from the dark side in flight
bending space-time
no one can see

If I move to the North with the speed of a sound
then my orbit will last past a day
I’d speed over oceans
and acres of ice
returning like thunder’s delay.

We can send out a signal
a sound or a thought
we collectively seek and we find
but as we so do
our wisdom is skewed
by the faults of our common mind

Cursed with a conscience
questions assemble
adding to what we all know
That living is simple
but loving is not
as we leave to where we all go
