She felt his lips flicker against her skin.
Just like he had done a thousand times before.
She shivered in electric response.
Tears formed in her eyes.
He would not notice
He wanted her badly.
and she would give herself as always.

He took her hungrily
 with all the passion she always felt.
She heard herself whisper 
don’t ever leave me
Please don’t ever leave me.

He stopped and held her to him closely.
I am here for you now
I shall be here for you again.
I am attached to you like your shadow.

She looked into his beautiful eyes 
But no reassurance was really there.
Then she realized just how many times
she had waltzed with her shadow
when she was lonely and alone.
