Shadowlight

Light vs Darkness

Shadowlight

In the beginning,
There was energy.
They work
In true,
Metaphysical harmony:

“For what am I”
Said, the darkness
“Without my maker?”

Your light birthed
Us two.

We represent,
A universal delicacy
A true balance.

Yet your light
Consumes—
All that surrounds me.

From the mountains,
Of David, and the
Temple of Solomon.

From the Sphinx,
To the ‘Henge’
And Spartan,
Martyrs.

Your fingerprints,
Merely humble me.
Crumbled, beneath
Your avalanche.

When shall we
Truly know
Thee next.
