Shadows

Shadows

Oranges and yellows of the mushroom cloud

The deafening crack of the explosion so loud

The blast wave destroys all humanity in its way

This act will be remembered forever and a day

Survivors look at a monster stirred from its bed

On the ground they see shadows of the dead

The severely wounded groan with pain

Laying under a torrent of black acid rain

The effects of a few seconds will last for years

Ash covered ghosts struggle to wipe away tears

Where once the beauty of all life was to be seen

Now a wasteland from hell replaces the serene

Why was such a destructive force unleashed at all ?

A question hard to answer with so much to appal.
