Poem -

A shameless pity

We finish our day by laying on our backs, we close our eyes,

our bodies surrender and become limp.

like We die every night and are reborn every morning.

With rebirth we wash away our guilt and sins.

Opening the doors for more crude behaviour.

No need for apologies that will only fall on deaf ears,

 and blind eyes are turned.

Our shadows lose hope and stop following us.

A man becomes vulnerable without his shadow,

He has no one watching his back.

So the day will come when we all expire.

Regretting we sold our responsibilities for a pack of playing cards.

Our presence hardly putting a dent on modern history.

It takes ten good men to carry the shame.
