Shaquita Lashay

She was not old she was not new she was just who she was
my god she fussed much is that how she showed her love
I think about her much, there is no word in any human language that can describe
How being without her these many of years has made me feel inside
That mother, get to know her? All that is known is that she was hard but humble
Was not afraid to make mistakes, always correcting her walk after a stumble
That mother, determination in her eyes, heart, and soul how bold she was, A warrior, Black candake in her own right was told she was
But no matter what it was or what it may have seemed
We know for sure that she was that woman, that mother, that black queen
