SHE WAS
SHE WAS the frightened little child
Holding her breath, underneath a bed
SHE WAS huddled in a corner
Holding on, by a thread
SHE WAS the frightened little child
Who didn't have a voice
SHE remembers feeling helpless
Feeling trapped without a choice
SHE WAS the frightened little child
Who tried to get away
If only in her imagination
She survived, from day to day
SHE'S NOT, the child anymore
She doesn't hide beneath a bed
She's overcome her painful past
And goes; Where angels fear to tread
The inner child became the warrior
Her timid voice; A Lion's roar
She became an empowered woman
She's not the victim anymore
She overcame her hard battles
She got stronger, day by day
So if you're thinking of causing trouble
I'd get the hell out of her way
