She Wore Brown Velvet

She Wore Brown Velvet

Inspired by Bobby Vinton’s song, “Blue Velvet”
.
Last night, I thought about an old song, that Bobby Vinton sang;
It tells of the beautiful “Blue Velvet”, that on his lady hangs!
He loves its tender texture, runs his fingers along her side;
Its softness drives him wild, in the song, he aptly cries!
.
My memories started while at your mirror, you unbound your lovely braid;
Your hair fell freely to your buttocks, dark brown and softly grayed!
You picked up your brush, boar bristled, and ran it through each strand;
Your lovely tresses falling into place, with each gentle stroke your hand!
.
Then this tune my mind was playing, but I substituted brown for blue;
The magnificence of your magic mane, the “Brown Velvet” hung from you!
The passion we share is timeless, it defies our years of age;
For like couples thirty years younger, the fires still in us rage!
.
.
                        With an unbound braid
               Your “Brown Velvet” tresses fall
                               As I ever rise
